We would like to request submissions for the Second Annual Consumer Financial Well-Being (CFWB) Emerging Scholar Competition at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business.

The Gabelli School of Business is proud to host the Consumer Financial Well-being Emerging Scholar Competition for doctoral research related to consumer financial well-being, within the context of marketing.  Through this competition we hope to support doctoral research across disciplines to develop meaningful and impactful results related to consumer financial well-being. The award includes a cash prize of $1,000 (sponsored by the Gabelli School of Business), a plaque, and spotlight features on various websites and other publications.

Eligibility
Recipients of the Consumer Financial Well-being Emerging Scholar Award should be in a PhD program

Selection Process

Candidates are to submit a paper drawn from their doctoral research related to consumer financial well-being. Preference will be given to empirical papers with results.  Please use template below.

Submission Deadline: June 1st, 2022

Winner will be announced in late Spring 2022

Competitive Research Paper Template

Title- 8 words max

Abstract – 175 words max

The abstract is limited to 175 words and summarizes the key components of the manuscript.

Paper – 2,500 words (approximately 10 pages double-spaced Times New Roman font) inclusive of figures and tables and excluding references.

Please note that submissions with text longer than 2,500 words will not be reviewed

Authors have the option of including one table summarizing results and/or one figure (these

do count against the word limit).

 

Format:

  • Introduction: State the purpose of your research
  • Conceptual Framework: Literature review that serves as your foundation to build your argument
  • Methods: Design and approach to address your research problem
  • Findings: Results
  • Theoretical Implications (if applicable)
  • Practical implications (if applicable)
  • Conclusion: Limitations, directions for future research, and overall summary and contribution of your research paper.
