Anthony DeFrancesco & AllHallows

The CFWB is proud to announce that one of our members has developed a Community Engaged Learning outreach program that has been awarded a $4,000 CEL grant to support students at All Hallows High School in the South Bronx. This grant is leveraging Harvard Marketplace Simulation experiential software and Gabelli Marketing Area faculty Anthony DeFrancesco to provide these students with a real world Marketing Experience. We are also providing Harvard Marketing Mentor software to each student and onsite lectures where students will develop a strong understanding of the basics of Marketing. At the end of the program these high school students will receive Harvard completion certificates and a Harvard badge that represents their new Marketing skills. 47 students are now registered thanks to this grant and will be the first wave in this program that will go into 2023. Professor DeFrancesco will kick off the program at All Hallows in early March.

In addition All Hallows has indicated a strong interest in participating as a pilot in the CFWB Consumer Financial Wellbeing workshop which is currently under development. The CEL is also arranging for these students a tour of Fordham Gabelli in late Spring where they will be bused to the campus and participate in some classes. This of course, if allowed, will be subject to Covid regulations in place at that time.

Below are direct quotes from All Hallows Principal Nicholas Corrado

“We are very excited about this partnership and I am looking forward to working with you all as we deploy the simulation. The students are already very eager for you to lecture and launch the program. I think that this partnership will help to differentiate All Hallows High School from our competitors and set our seniors up for success should they choose to pursue business courses in college and beyond.”

“Just wanted to reach out and say thank you again for your help securing the grant and for attending the President’s Hall of Fame Dinner this past week. On behalf of Ron Schute, President of All Hallows we are looking forward to the Spring and moving forward with the business simulation software, getting kids to Gabelli and having you in as a guest lecturer. Definitely promises to be an exciting Spring. Looking forward to our continued collaboration.”
